Site specific trio in mid-air

« Staring at the wall, I see a sentence, a dance, a circle. When I gaze at the sky, the immense, naked sky expands all the muscles of my body. I’m then looking at it with my entire being. »

From the Notes of Paul Valéry.

A void is like an invisible body clinging in mid-air. It is the space between two objects, between two bodies, serving to distinguish two visible forms that move side by side. But pay heed to that “in-between”, and it thickens, becomes almost palpable, moving, shrinking, stretching and tipping over.

« Here, there’s no support… In the void, only this vibrating interval. Dancers draw forms and invisible shapes to create an unusual dialogue between presence and absence. »

Christian Ruby, philosopher, about Vide accordé.
