This acrobatic and musical climbing tale is inspired by "Sur la trace de Nives" written by Erri De Luca.
It will show the strength, the complicity and the harmony that 2 mountaineers necessarily need while climbing a mountain.
I’m interested in the changing states of body. I travel between the athletic body confronted to a difficult task and the abandonned body, without strength, supported to avoid the fall.
The scenography is composed of suspended ropes and a net the performers will climb.
Artistic director: Denis Welkenhuyzen
With the complicity of Sébastien Ehlinger : actor and musician
of Stéphane Couturas and Jérémy Paon: mountaineer dancers
and of Olivier Penel : rigger
Ascension comes from the desire to make vertical dance tangible with words.
Nowadays, I wish to be inspired by the meaning of things, the meaning of artistic composition.
When we listen to them, words, and especially stories, leave in each of us a space where we can curl in.
This climb, composed of words and climbing choreographies, is the source of this creation.
